Track of the Day: "Fight For Survival" - Frequencerz & In-Phase

Always chasing after those last minutes of dark, we ravers only find ourselves cast out into society when the sun comes taunting us over the horizon. But tonight mere mortals can understand us. Here's to the years of gore, horror, and sleepless nights we spent masquerading and dancing through the dank dungeons of our towns, while everyone else was too busy sleeping.

Throwback Thursday: "First Glance" - Matan Zohar (Mat Zo)

I hope this week's Throwback Thursday treats you well. Today we embark on a journey back to Mat Zo's New Year's Day 2010 guest mix for Above & Beyond on TATW 301, where he spun in his classic mix of "First Glance" under his formal name Matan Zohar. Though released over two years later on Armada, this classic Zo track gives us a glimpse into the artist's earlier experimentations with the electrified dubbed-out ambient sound that would soon dominate the airwaves. Stream the full extended mix below.

Throwback Thursday: "Death By House" - Len Faki

Soaked Techno heads packed the dark electronic tent at Tomorrowland this Saturday after torrential rain poured down on the throngs of partiers. After an icy, biting set by dark Tech king Adam Beyer the headliner of the night, Len Faki, came behind the decks to play one of the most enlivening sets I've ever experienced and without a doubt one of the best of the weekend. I was not too familiar with Faki other than a few of his huge hits but after getting down to the sound for an exhilarating two hours I am now a huge fan. Today acquaint your body with the bass for a throwback to over half a decade ago with Len Faki's killer "Death By House!"

"The Sound of Nature" (Plug 'N' Play Remix) - Mario Lopez [Throwback Thursday]

"Trance is not a genre of music, but a flow, an element. A true conveyance of human expression, culture, and diversity. Trance is not a genre of music, but a key to expression of the euphoric emotions from within yourself. Once you have trance, you can turn it into whatever you want. Trance is the epitome of sound, the sound men were looking for. That sound is a state of mind which gives you a form of positive energy to go on and it to share with the ones you love. It's a lifestyle - a habit fed by listening to a tune which catches your heart and electrifies your mind. It's a lifelong journey down the rabbit hole of sound, a mysterious experience bringing you to the far corners of the world, pressuring you with feelings you have never felt before. While some music raises questions, Trance remains the answer, carrying you into anything and nothing at the same time. It drags you into emotions from beyond. It feeds your every need and heals you when you're sick. It's the forbidden fruit, a taste sweeter than you've ever had before, but you can never make it completely yours." - Anonymous
