Track of the Day: "Bamf" (Original Mix) - Qulinez

Swedish power duo Qulinez (Q-Lines) has just released a new two track EP for our listening enjoyment. Most famous for the giant track "Troll," these two have come back just before the year's end to provide us with some epic House to welcome the apocalypse, Christmas, and the New Year. Both of the tracks that they have just released are amazing, though my personal favorite is "Bamf", because it's an epic prog/electro hybrid. The other track "Dynamic" is fucking epic as well, a touch more melodic than "Bamf". In any case, both of these tracks are worth checking out!

"Stars Troll" (Extended Mix) - Kaskade vs. Qulinez

Once again we see Kaskade paired with another producer to produce an epic vocal mashup of a popular track. This time, it's Kaskade + Qulinez's "Troll". We've seen Kaskade do this previously with "I Remember," "Move For Me", and "Falling In Love With Brazil" with Deadmau5 (all of which turned out to be fucking sick), and it looks like this collab is another notch in the belt of awesomeness for Lounge favorite Kaskade. "Troll" is one of this year's top Electro House anthems that's been sampled, mashed up, and remixed about 12 trillion times (though, unfortunately, not all samplings/mashups/remixes are created equal). Despite the plethora of instances of somewhat subpar usage of "Troll", Kaskade has managed to get it right, and this particular mashup is incredibly solid. The vocals work really nicely with "Troll", and the drop is, of course, awesome. If you like this track, check out 3LAU's mashup "Action" which is another good example of a sick "Troll" progression sampling. And watch out for more auditory delights to come from Qulinez, who have already had a remarkably great year in the scene.

Qulinez Impress Again with their Remix of "Don't Blame the Party" - Bingo Players

Qulinez is quickly becoming one of my favorite breakout artists of 2012. These Swedish newbies have released some ear-pleasing originals and remixes this year that have been simply outstanding. And their remix of Bingo Players' "Dont Blame the Party" is no different. The good: Heather Bright's beautiful vocals and melodic undertones transcend nicely from the original mix. The great: Qulinez's signature bass rides the chorus into crushing beat heaven! This is a great take on an already killer Bingo Players' original. For sure, I can't wait to hear this awesomeness live! By the way, are my ears playing tricks on me or does the intro to this banger speed up and slow down?

"Hit Me Down Sonny" - The Ting Tings (Qulinez Remix)

Qulinez is killing it this year! After releasing their breakthrough hit "Troll," which has been on heavy rotation for the past months, and our personal favorite, their remix of "A Heavy Abacus," it seems like everything these kids touch turns to gold! And "Hit Me Down Sonny" is certainly no exception. Yes, it's a remix. No, it's not another killer original that we've all been thirsting for... but who cares? After all, one of the key traits of a legit DJ is their remixing skills. If you're a fan of The Ting Ting's, or even if you don't know who they are, check this hot new #EDM cut. You'll dig for sure. Now the real question is how Qulinez only has 6,000 likes on Facebook? Guys, I think it's time for you to run with the big boys and pay for your likes

Track of the Day 4/25/2012: "A Heavy Abacus" - The Joy Formidable (Qulinez Remix)

They came out of left field earlier this year with club banger, and very likely track of the year, "Troll" (also below). Now, Qulinez returns with a progressive house rendition of Wales' own (The Joy Formidable) "A Heavy Abacus." And this track does not disappoint! Ritzy Bryan's beautiful dreamy pop vocals carry the track from verse to chorus while the smooth "thumb, thumb, thumb" driving bass never ends. Listening to this will surely brighten up your day.
