Track of the Day: "Jah No Partial" - Major Lazer ft. Flux Pavilion

Every cloud has its silver lining, and the delay of Major Lazer’s sophomore album Free the Universe has its silver lining as well.  While the album won’t be out until February 19th, Lazer-lovers everywhere are able to indulge in their new rasta-flavored track, “Jah No Partial.” Collaborating with the UK dubstep artist Flux Pavilion, the song uses the powerful acapella vocal sampling of reggae legend Johnny Osbourn. "Jah No Parial" is definitely different from their first released single from the album, “Get Free”, but still maintains those soulful qualities that make you want to put the track on repeat. Although the song should be tying fans over for 3 more months, the hard hitting bassline has me anxious and eager to hear what other kinds of tracks will be featured on the album. Sure to be an awesome addition to their live set, free yourself by catching Major Lazer on one of their six US tour dates!

"There Might be Coffee" - Deadmau5

Deadmau5 has finally delivered the coffee… and just in time for the Veld Music Festival in Toronto where he is a headlining act alongside Avicii, Bassnectar, and more (full preview coming tomorrow!). Melodic and uplifting as mau5 tracks are known to be, "There Might Be Coffee" features an energetic mixture of thumping bass, percussion, and warm synths. Equipped with that signature "Deadmau5 sound," the track takes me to a different state of mind; simply stated, it's beautiful. Unofficially released on Deadmau5's soundcloud, he produced the track in front of millions of fans on his ustream, but it's sure to be a highlight of his new album in the works. Grab your favorite cup of Tim Horton's and let the music take you away! And if you're a Mau5head like me, check out this great interview by Canada's CBC which really gives you a feel for Joel Zimmerman.

Track of the Day: "Feel Me" - Krewella

One of the six tracks from their latest Play Hard EP, Krewella's "Feel Me" will get you through the week. The track is really chill, and wait for that drop! With smooth vocals, and a hot fusion of electro, progressive house, and heavy dubstep, this album is great to vibe to! If you didn't know, Krewella is a trio from Chicago comprised of twins Jahan and Yasmine Yousaf who sing and mix, while Rainman runs the production. Grab the EP from Beatport, you will not be disappointed!
