"Into The Past" - Nero (Great Gatsby Soundtrack)

One of the most anticipated films of the year has teamed up with Interscope for a stunning soundtrack commissioning the likes of Beyonce, Lana del Rey, and Florence & The Machine. While it doesn't surprise us, the sheer gravity of Nero's newest production for the movie far surpasses anyone else's thus far. "Into the Past" was put up earlier today and is absolutely enormous. A listen through the cinematic track reveals a heart-wrenching song with an ominous bassline complementing Alana Watson's every breath. The power created when combining Alana's tearjerking vocals over heavy percussion will have your palms sweating. I'm genuinely looking forward to see how the filmographers put this in the movie.

Fuck yes Trap Track of the Day! If you've been deprived of bass this last week now's the time to bathe in it! Baauer has established a name for himself at the forefront of experimental EDM, and has been launched into the spotlight with Trap's sudden growth in popularity. Exhibit A: his performance tonight at Pier of Fear 94 NYC alongside heavyweights Tommy Trash, Knife Party, and Kill the Noise! There's really no better way to illustrate the pure adrenaline that awaits the Tri-State ravers this Halloweekend than this track. Nero & Adventure Club @ Hammerstein Ballroom NYC

This weekend provides some amazing shows that serve as a fantastic kickoff to this year's Halloween festivities in NYC. Following Knife Party, Tommy Trash, and Kill the Noise at Pier 94 this Friday, and preceding Rusko at Pacha Sunday, Nero and Adventure Club will be playing Hammerstein Ballroom on Saturday, providing a heavy, bass-infused counterpoint to the epic Electro House rager that is Friday night. Both of these events are awesome and have incredible talent for the price, so if you can make it to both, do it.

Adventure Club has exploded in popularity recently due to a barrage of epic remixes that have finally gotten them some of the attention that they deserve. The Canadian duo has been consistently releasing noteworthy tracks for a while now, and as their popularity has increased, so has the impressive list of remixes they've produced, most of which have earned a permanent spot on my party playlists.

NERO is absolutely amazing. The first Dubstep track I ever heard was a remix from them that still blows my mind, and I have loved pretty much everything they've put out since. They put on an incredibly solid live show, and their stage performance combined with Alana's live vocals is always awesome (though this will be a DJ set). Here at EDM Lounge we are big fans, and just recently posted their sick remix of a Michael Jackson classic, "Speed Demon" which got a lot of hype. Remixing the King of Pop is no easy feat, and NERO totally pulled it off, solidifying their position as one of the most creative acts around.

"Speed Demon" - Michael Jackson (Nero Remix)

Thank God for Nero posting new tracks! I recently posted their new track "Game Over" and another just this week "Won't You (Be There)" which is a banging track that I've been had on repeat since I first heard it. This remix that has just come out is of "Speed Demon" by the King of Pop, and I'm really loving the fusion of the classic Nero Dubstep sound with the the late MJ's trademark vocals. If you're going to remix Michael it better be good, and let me just say that Nero nailed it. Big up to Nero for releasing some great tracks this week!
