The Best of Electric Zoo 2012: Live Set Downloads

All the animals are still roaming wild after this weekend at the Electric Zoo. We were absolutely blown away by stellar performances from nearly every artist we saw this weekend, so we're happy to present this list of live sets from this past weekend. The list will be updated as more streaming sets become available. And if you were at the festival you may have seen Brooke Allan taking your photos, we have a lot coming real soon so watch out for them, they'll be posted within the next few days on the Event Photos section and on our Facebook page (so make sure to tag yourselves)!

Dillon Francis

D-Francis brought the tent to the ground with his grimey Jungle Moombah beats Friday. It was a hot and sweaty late afternoon but not even 90+ degrees could keep NYC ravers out of the Riverside tents for one of the weekend's grindiest sets.

Ferry Corsten

You could just tell by the look on Ferry's face towards the end of the set on Friday that he knew he had killed it! Playing one of the most high-energy Trance sets we've ever seen, the set was only overshadowed by Above & Beyond. Watch out for our interview with him coming soon!

Above & Beyond

Whether you're a fan of Trance music or not, A&B are life-changers. Tony and Jono played two absolutely magnificent sets, one Friday for Group Therapy at Hilltop and one Saturday Main Stage to close the night. The English trio is known for their moving mixes, and I can safely say that everyone from die-hard Anjunabeats fans to people who had never heard them before were blown away by their sets. I have never seen anyone cry at an EDM show, but these two made it happen - two nights in a row with confetti raining down from the sky. The highlight for me was their closing with Oceanlab's "On a Good Day" Saturday night. Absolutely breathtaking, as always.

The Godfather played an amazing set Main Stage Sunday main stage dropping countless new tracks such as Dyro & Amba Shepherd's "Sky High". Tiesto kept the crowd moving with "Maximal Crazy" and other smash-hits, it was a total shame he didn't get to close the festival.

Our boy D-D-Diplo got dirty last night with one of the best sets we've ever seen him play, and with 3D visuals! Dropping countless originals and new Major Lazer tracks, and grimey Moombah remixes of Rick Ross, to Kanye, to Azealia Banks, D kept the crowd grinding sweaty and dirty for an entire hour-and-a-half. The highlight of the set was of course when "Express Yourself" dropped and our very own Anne Chang ("Trisha Takanawa") was escorted on stage to twerk that bootay. One of the best sets of the entire weekend.

EDC Vegas Live Set Downloads: Hardwell, Armin, and More!

The 2012 installment of Electric Daisy Carnival Las Vegas has officially come to a close - what a weekend, and what a crowd! Although this year's event had some difficulties that couldn't be avoided (the wind Saturday night that forced the stages to shut down), it was still a weekend full of hard-hitting EDM and most of all, PLUR! Official reviews and more are coming soon, but in the meantime enjoy this collection of our favorite live sets from EDC 2012! We will update this post as new sets are released on the web, so keep checking, and enjoy!

Armin van Buuren (ASOT)

Your Guide to Friday at EDC NY

The set times for Electric Daisy Carnival New York have just been announced, and we couldn't be more excited! The West Coast tradition kicks off on the East Coast tomorrow afternoon, and here's where you'll find the EDM Lounge team (if we aren't on the carnival rides)!

Cosmic Gate (4:30 PM - 5:30 PM, kineticFIELD)

The German trance duo Nic and Bossi impressed with their performance at ASOT 550 at Ultra Music Festival this year, and tomorrow will be no different as they take to the kineticFIELD mainstage at Metlife Stadium. Their productions are always melodic but can be hard, but their vocal tracks are where they really shine. Collaborating with top trance vocalists such as Emma Hewitt (who will be at the festival tomorrow), Cosmic Gate always impresses with their ability transform partying beats into brilliant music progressions. And if that wasn't enough, these dudes are true masters of mixing.

Madeon (5:30 PM - 6:30 PM, kineticFIELD)

This recently-turned 17 year old's dance music career has recently exploded, and it's no wonder why. Churning out unique Pop-infused Electro House beats, the French Madeon is sure to put on a good show at the main stage tomorrow.

Crizzly (6:05 PM - 7:00 PM, circuitGROUNDS)

To be honest, you bass heads may be a little disappointed with tomorrow's lineup. But not to worry, because Crizzly will be at the circuitGROUNDS stage blasting his trademark crunkstep. EDM Lounge is always one to support American DJs, so we can't wait to nod and shake to the sound of this San Antonio dub master's beats. Infusing hip-hop and rap into his bass grind, Crizzly is sure to make you go "hard in da motherfuckin' paint."

Fatboy Slim (7:45 PM - 8:45 PM, kineticFIELD)

Put your hands up in the air for this EDM pioneer! Going all the way back to the golden days of Big Beat, the British Norman Cook has won over ten MTV Music Video Awards. Apart from his best known tracks "Praise You," "The Rockafella Skank," and "Right Here Right Now," Slim is a master spinner. His set at Ultra Music Festival caught me by surprise - don't underestimate this guy for his age, he knows what he's doing.

Armin van Buuren (10:00 PM - 11:00 PM, kineticFIELD)

Nothing can compare to one of Armin's sets, at least nothing I have seen. We are so excited that Insomniac made sure he was in the city that never sleeps for the craziest EDM festival to ever hit the East Coast. And if that wasn't enough to please our trance-loving hearts, he will be playing a second 1.5 hour set Saturday at the A State of Trance: Invasion tent (what we're really looking forward to at the festival). Armin has fueled the EDM craze worldwide, and we are glad that he sticks true to his Trance sound while others abandon it for poppy Progressive House (not to say we don't like that too). Combined with impeccable set design and visuals, both of Armin's sets are an absolute can't miss! And expect fireworks and confetti - I've never seen a van Buuren set without them!

Review: Kaskade at Coachella Valley Music Festival

I was one of 20,000 people to skip out on Radiohead's headlining set Saturday night for Ryan Raddon's mammoth performance at the Sahara tent during Coachella Weekend 1 in Indio, California... and with no regrets! Debuting his new "Freaks of Nature" stage and light show, Kaskade brought it as hard as it comes after the lights dimmed (and the crowd burst into screams of anticipation) for his 11:15pm set time.

Track after track, Kaskade delivered his unique and creative blend of progressive house through his hour and thirty minute set (and apparently pumped $100,000 dollars of CO2 into the tent to make everyone feel refreshed). The best part about a Kaskade show, and this Coachella performance in particular, is Ryan's positive aura that surrounded him as his youthful energy touched each and every sweaty, smiling fan. I've never seen a person so fully engrossed in absolute bliss while performing. Kaskade lives life for every moment and shares his happiness with every fan through his music. No wonder he's America's favorite producer & DJ, and mine for sure. I only wish it would have lasted for twice as long.

I highly suggest you follow @kaskade on twitter and catch him on his Freaks of Nature tour (full info here) as he spreads his amazing music across America this summer!

Make sure to check out this amazing live set!
