"Life" (Diamonds In the Dark) - John Dahlback (Lazy Rich Remix)

The stars have aligned on this track, as Electro House producer Lazy Rich takes Dahlbäck's symphonic original and gives it an absolutely vicious makeover while preserving the smooth piano melody and vocals. Agnes lays down some gorgeous vocals that fit the piano melody perfectly, and there are some nice, warm synths that come in before the break that further enhance the cohesiveness of the chorus. However, things take a heavy turn when Lazy Rich takes the wheel, and the beak is filled with some incredibly thick, grinding synths that not many other Electro House producers are capable of creating. It is safe to say that Lazy Rich has developed a signature sound for himself over the years. After hugely successful remixes and collaborations with the likes of Avicii, Porter Robinson, and Zedd, it is no wonder that this remix is pulled off so masterfully, as the best parts of the original are perfectly preserved and then further enhanced with some sweet Electro flair.

"Silhouettes" (Remixes) - Avicii

Out today on Avicii's own LE7ELS is the official remixes of his latest smash hit that's been sweeping the EDM nation, "Silhouettes." The Swede's original track is an uplifting one that lives up to the hype of past works ("Fade Into Darkness," "My Feelings For You") which changed his name as a DJ from just Tim Berg to Avicii, elevating him to the top of Progressive House. Whichever remix you prefer, this massive anthem proves that ravers "are the future, and we're here to stay."

EDX's "Arena Club Mix" is the most interesting of the three, taking the original and turning it into a bass-heavy banger.

The Syn Cole "Creamfields Mix" stays truest to the original, maintaining the trademark Avicii sound by not completely altering the synth patterns.

The one that you'll probably be hearing the most of in festival sets is Lazy Rich's ("Damage Control" ft. Amba Shepherd) however, which turns the soft, melodic track on its head and infuses it with some Electro House filth.

Alesso, Arty, & More at Six Flags Great Adventure, NJ

After successfully hosting the first EDM concert at their park in Mexico for Dash Berlin in May, Six Flags has dared to enter the US market and host a rave at the largest Six Flags in the world this October the 6th, 2012. Tickets to the event include admission to the park (yes, you can ride Kingda Ka, the largest & 2nd fastest roller coaster in the world), as well as entry to the show which includes sets by the mighty Alesso, one of my personal favorites, Arty, as well as support by Super Mash Bros, Lazy Rich, and DJ BL3ND (with more to be announced). And if that isn't enough to entice you, the show will be held during the park's notorious fright fest (enough said).

VIP & GA tickets go on sale August 26th on, don't miss the chance to snag them!

Coming Soon: "Silhouettes" Official Remixes - Avicii

Building off of the success of “Silhouettes”, and in anticipation of his incredibly hyped Radio City Music Hall show, EDM icon Avicii is set to release an EP of the track's remixes in the near future. Out soon on Beatport, the three new versions are produced by lesser known Syn Cole, rising star EDX, and majorly underrated UK producer Lazy Rich. Charged with transforming a classic Berg-style track, filled with uplifting piano melodies, the three reshape the record through overdrives of bass and synth.

The Syn Cole “Creamfields Mix” promises to adhere to Avicii’s original track the most, with a synth pattern strikingly similar to the original keyboarding. EDX’s “Arena Club Mix” remix takes a step away from his recent style and delivers much heavier bass than we’ve become used to. My favorite of the three, producer Lazy Rich’s remix does not depart from Avicii’s original vision, while altering the track into a much harder Electro House record, which promises to be a club and festival banger. Watch out for the release soon, and if you missed The Disco Fries' remix of "Silhouettes," make sure to give it a listen (and free download!).

Mix of the Day: Hardwell on Air Episode 068 (Dyro Guest Mix)

Hardwell is back with this hot new episode of his weekly radio show, this week guest mixed by none other than Dyro! Opening smoothly with the hard-hitting House anthem "You're Gonna Love Again" by producer Nervo, Dyro slowly picks up the pace including some of his own productions such as his mashup "No EMP" of Steve Aoki and Afrojack's "No Beef." Even better is his inclusion of a song we featured as Track of the Day a week back or so "Damage Control" by Lazy Rich and Hirshee featuring the sweet melodic vocals of the immensely talented vocalist Amba Shepherd! Other highlights include Zedd's "Spectrum," which has rapidly shot to the top of the EDM charts since its release (if you haven't heard this track already, it's about time!). Dyro closes the mix with some hard-hitting Electro Dubstep from none other than Knife Party, with their hot new single off their EP of the same name, "Rage Valley." Enjoy this mix this weekend!
