Artist Spotlight: Oskar

Carl Kennedy's Wasted Youth, backed by the legendary House label Strictly Rhythm, recently signed their newest talent Oskar from Sweden. Having DJed since the young age of 16 and with five-plus years of experience producing originals, this up and coming producer is certainly no stranger to the Electronic Dance Music scene. Oskar draws inspiration in his flawless productions from the renowned Armand van Helden and from fellow Swede and House-God Axwell. With recent support from Benny Benassi, Stonebridge, D.O.N.S., and Tristan Garner, among others, Oskar has landed a prime spot in the Scandinavian Dance Chart's Top 10. Oskar caught the attention of Carl Kennedy with his outstanding remix of "Once Upon A Time" which is available for free download!

"I primarily try to make music with a lot of energy and groove that makes people wanna dance,” Oskar comments. With unabashed talent and dedication, and that trademark Swedish-House sound, Oskar's future is promising.

The DJ/Producer was also kind enough to provide us with a free 30 minute mix to enjoy, including another one of his hot Carl Kennedy remixes, "Lost in Rio." Enjoy EDM heads!

The 2012 installment of Electric Daisy Carnival Las Vegas has officially come to a close - what a weekend, and what a crowd! Although this year's event had some difficulties that couldn't be avoided (the wind Saturday night that forced the stages to shut down), it was still a weekend full of hard-hitting EDM and most of all, PLUR! Official reviews and more are coming soon, but in the meantime enjoy this collection of our favorite live sets from EDC 2012! We will update this post as new sets are released on the web, so keep checking, and enjoy!

Free Download: "God Slay the Fiend" (Original Mix) - Figure

Check out this sick track from Figure that was just released a few days ago! If you've seen him live or just saw him live at EDC, you have probably heard this, as he says that it is a part of his live sets but that he is releasing it due to it's popularity at shows. We've done a post on him before for his track "The Brink" which is sick (check it out if you missed it), and he just continues to release wild shit, so here we are again. This track opens with some sampling from SLC Punk, and then immediately goes into a sick drop that I thought was quite impressive. He also throws us a drumstep drop as well, which I appreciate because, as you know, I have mad respect for artists who can incorporate more than one genre into a track. So mad props to you, Figure! Hit me up on Twitter (@SaraLange922) and let me know what you think of this track, and while you're over there, follow Figure too (@imfigure). Enjoy!

Preview: "Burn It Down" - Linkin Park (Pixel Cheese Remix)

On June 6th newly Ultra Records signed Pixel Cheese will drop his unofficial remix of Linkin Park's "Burn It Down." Now, I like Linkin Park, but I don't LOVE them. All that changes, however, when Pixel Cheese gives one of their tunes the #EDM treatment. The familiar aggressive undertones of Linkin Park's signature sound are still there but totally amplified with repetitive bangin' bass, military-like 16th note snare drum hits, and yes that SUPER awesome build-up and hard hitting drop we all look for. Check it. LP would be pleased.

This track will be available for FREE download on June 6 as a birthday present from Pixel Cheese

"Undercat" - Tristam ft. Zealot

With a dreamy, melodic intro, "Undercat" takes us by surprise with hard-hitting bass drops and staggering drum rhythms. Tristam's latest has all the dirt and grime that we all look for in a solid drumstep track.

Download the track legally for free from Monstercat Media!
