"Armed & Dangerous" (Datsik Remix) - Rise at Night

Bass music is thriving despite what some may tell you, with today's monster Dubstep track coming forth from the beasts over at Firepower Records, this time coming from the creator himself Datsik. This one is just as filthy as always, packed with fat wobbles and Datsik's trademark disgustingly down-low bassline that makes you want to do unspeakable things. With festival season unfolding, the new tunes are starting to flow steadily to keep your eyes on the blogosphere and be sure to grab this one when it drops on June 11th!

Throwback Thursday: "Scum" - Datsik

Known as one of the Gods of Dubstep in the dance scene today, Datsik recently released a classic '09 throwback for you all you bass heads. I was personally never a big fan of his, just listening to him here and there but never really paying much attention. But the release of this song totally changed my mind and made me fall in love with what he's capable of. The heavy bass riffs, slow tempo, and sound layering minimization is pretty awesome, echoing the grungier days of dark all-night warehouse raves. But what's even more incredible about "Scum" is how he keeps it old school while still targeting the new wave sound, quite a feat for 2009. Datsik, I must say you nailed it. Watch out for the upcoming re-release on his next EP out on Firepower!

Filthy New Bass: Psycho EP - Getter

Just released today on Datsik's label Firepower is this sick new five-track EP from Getter, a young artist who has recently been attracting a lot of attention. Since the EP was released on Datsik's Label, I expected it to be absolutely filthy, and it definitely did not disappoint.

All of the tracks are absolutely dirty and face melting, but my two favorites are "Deadly" and "Wizard Flex", which both feature some absolutely epic basslines and some crazy synths, along with some strong driving beats. All in all, this is a very solid EP from Getter that is a must listen if you enjoy very heavy, dissonant, face-melting dubstep. With recent support by bass acts Flux Pavilion, Rusko, and more in their live sets, Getter is surely a name to watch. Have a listen and let me know what you think! If you like this track, then have a listen to the Getter Remix of "Sierra Leone" by Mt. Eden which is definitely worth a listen.
