Track of the Day: "One Thousand Suns" (Danny Howard Vocal Remix)

Danny Howard lures you in with pop-rock vocals to unexpected places when the harder side of Electronic comes out to play. This brilliant rework of Ferry Corsten, Chicane, and Christian Burn's production has a soaring vocal score that pushes us towards a searing dance break with the final words: "the lights above will shine to guide you home." The string work gives off the warm feel of the shimmering sun that soon sets again with the return of the monstrous all-night breakdown, resembling the passing of time. The perfect anthem to kick off Spring 2013!

Last night was truly a remarkable night for dance music in New York City, and the entire United States. Although I didn't really hear much of the so called Trance that we're celebrating 600 episodes of, the entire experience from the moment we entered Madison Square Garden was out of this world. The vibe from the general admission pit area was unbelievable, especially since it wasn't too overcrowded so everyone could move straight to the front if they wanted. Either way W&W set it off early with their typical Electro set. Unfortunately their sound got cut for the longest time I've ever experienced, so I felt quite bad for them for what otherwise would have been one for the books. Markus & Ferry took the stage together as "New World Punx" and played what was for me the best set of the night. You could see the gleam in Armin's eyes as he took to the decks of "The World's Most Famous Arena," which was now jam-packed. I was a little confused as to why Armin thought it was a good idea to play "Clarity" and "Spectrum" back to back, but other than that error of judgement the entire set was truly historical. Listen and download below!

Free Set Downloads: ASOT 600 Miami @ Ultra Music Festival

Ultra really wowed me this year other and other than the crowd situation this past Friday I had an amazing time with amazing people! I was sad not to be able to attend the show yesterday but here's what I and the other unlucky people missed. Ferry Corsten really impressed today the entire stream and I've been hearing rave reviews of Paul van Dyk's closing set. Enjoy and see you all next year for the (supposedly one) weekend of March 28, 29, and 30th!

Free Download: Ferry Corsten's Countdown 289

This week's countdown really caught my ear, it's finally time for some 2013 releases! Spinning many new tracks on this hour long mix from Kyau & Albert to his own originals, Ferry opens up the new year with a slap. I'm going to be perfectly honest, you might want to fast forward a bit talking on these can be pretty annoying, but this is surely one of the best mixes so far this year. From the get-go Corsten makes you "Feel the Love" that is about to flow throughout these next 12 months. Another notable track is Intropial which from the first time I heard it sounded like a dancefloor classic, and Claesson's "Showtime" which has a hugely original sound. The icing on the cake is Corsten's latest original "Kudawudashuda" which has a vaguely familiar sound to it. Grab this free download and enjoy the best new releases of the New Year - by the sound of this it's going to be a huge one for Trance & Progressive!
