"Silhouettes" (Remixes) - Avicii

Out today on Avicii's own LE7ELS is the official remixes of his latest smash hit that's been sweeping the EDM nation, "Silhouettes." The Swede's original track is an uplifting one that lives up to the hype of past works ("Fade Into Darkness," "My Feelings For You") which changed his name as a DJ from just Tim Berg to Avicii, elevating him to the top of Progressive House. Whichever remix you prefer, this massive anthem proves that ravers "are the future, and we're here to stay."

EDX's "Arena Club Mix" is the most interesting of the three, taking the original and turning it into a bass-heavy banger.

The Syn Cole "Creamfields Mix" stays truest to the original, maintaining the trademark Avicii sound by not completely altering the synth patterns.

The one that you'll probably be hearing the most of in festival sets is Lazy Rich's ("Damage Control" ft. Amba Shepherd) however, which turns the soft, melodic track on its head and infuses it with some Electro House filth.

Coming Soon: "Silhouettes" Official Remixes - Avicii

Building off of the success of “Silhouettes”, and in anticipation of his incredibly hyped Radio City Music Hall show, EDM icon Avicii is set to release an EP of the track's remixes in the near future. Out soon on Beatport, the three new versions are produced by lesser known Syn Cole, rising star EDX, and majorly underrated UK producer Lazy Rich. Charged with transforming a classic Berg-style track, filled with uplifting piano melodies, the three reshape the record through overdrives of bass and synth.

The Syn Cole “Creamfields Mix” promises to adhere to Avicii’s original track the most, with a synth pattern strikingly similar to the original keyboarding. EDX’s “Arena Club Mix” remix takes a step away from his recent style and delivers much heavier bass than we’ve become used to. My favorite of the three, producer Lazy Rich’s remix does not depart from Avicii’s original vision, while altering the track into a much harder Electro House record, which promises to be a club and festival banger. Watch out for the release soon, and if you missed The Disco Fries' remix of "Silhouettes," make sure to give it a listen (and free download!).

"Miami Device" - Chris Reece, Stan Kolev, & EDX

If you enjoy House and partying, give this one a listen. Spinnin' Records is quickly becoming my “go-to” label for the newest and best of Progressive House, and "Miami Device," a recent release off the label is no different. Stan Kolev, Chris Reece, and Italian house sensation EDX collaborate to produce a big-room House anthem with spectrum-ranging synths. The track features two main drops, with a bass-teasing build up in between.  Check it out, and look for more to come from this emerging EDM mega-label.

This Weekend in NYC: Robbie Rivera & More at Governor's Island

Made Event (the host of Electric Zoo) is back with yet another edition of fun at Governors Beach Club this Saturday, July 14. With veteran DJ Robbie Rivera headlining the event, and absolutely stacked support, this sultry summer Saturday is sure to go down in the books. Come out and play on Governors Island starting at 4 PM, and stay until midnight, when the lights of the city above will be just as impressive as the sounds you're going to hear.

Robbie Rivera

This guy is prolific! Hitting his big break way back in 2000, Rivera's been around the block - his beats are at the pulse of the partying population. Robbie's tunes and mixes are played on heavy rotation on EDM radio stations online and all around the world, and he's more than used to playing packed-out crowds. From Miami to London, from Ibiza to his home of Puerto Rico, Rivera packs out dancefloors with his infectious house sound like a champ. So get out there NYC!

Sultan & Ned Shepard

We first noticed these guys back when Tiesto's Club Life Vol. 2 was released, and we're glad we did! Proving themselves time and time again with their remixes and vocal collaborations with the likes of Nadia Ali, the two have quickly become one of our favorite new sounds in Progressive House! We can't wait to see them live!

EDX

EDX is no newbie to the scene - his stuff's been making its way around the web since '94. Named among heavyweights Eric Prydz and Deadmau5 in Beatport's Top 3 Progressive House DJs in 2009, EDX is certainly someone we'll have our eyes, and ears glued to this weekend.

Track of the Day: "Sunset Miracles" - EDX

The latest track from EDX is nothing short of bliss and euphoria! "Sunset Miracles" features a beautiful and consistent chord progression which opens up into a massive and catchy Progressive House track. Actively producing and mixing for more then a decade, the multi-talented Italian artist, producer, and DJ EDX shows no signs of stopping. It's one of those tracks that you'll put on repeat. I for one, cannot stop listening. "Sunset Miracles" was released on Spinnin Records Monday, 6/4. Check it.
