Track of the Day 4/25/2012: "A Heavy Abacus" - The Joy Formidable (Qulinez Remix)

They came out of left field earlier this year with club banger, and very likely track of the year, "Troll" (also below). Now, Qulinez returns with a progressive house rendition of Wales' own (The Joy Formidable) "A Heavy Abacus." And this track does not disappoint! Ritzy Bryan's beautiful dreamy pop vocals carry the track from verse to chorus while the smooth "thumb, thumb, thumb" driving bass never ends. Listening to this will surely brighten up your day.

Heady Emalkay Bass Remix of Delilah's "Breathe"

This track was just released about two weeks ago by Emalkay. For those of you who don't know, Emalkay is an English producer who's just about to kick off his US tour, and he will be in NYC this Saturday April 28 at Webster Hall! I was very pleasantly surprised with this remix; I had heard Delilah's original version which is set to be released midway through May. The original version, the Chillstep version, are both absolutely amazing, but Emalkay's version is an absolute BANGER. He does a fantastic job making the song filthier while still leaving Delilah's beautiful vocals intact. Looking forward to the upcoming releases from both of these incredible artists, and if you get a chance to see Emalkay during the next few weeks, take it! This guy goes hard.

Bass Gods Approve: "The Brink" - Figure

Hey Dubheads! Brand new track from Figure! If you remember, we did a review of his set from the GET LOUD! music festival in DC, and once again, he does not disappoint. Though he remains relatively unknown, his stuff is consistent, head-noddy, a little dark, and reminds me of Dubstep's early days (oh, nostalgia). His tracks are nice and filthy, and this one features faster drums as well as many filthy drops. He does absolutely amazing work, creating some epic Drumstep and Dubstep tunes, and this artist is definitely one that we should keep an eye on, as he will surely be big in the future. If you wanted to check out some of his other tracks, check out his remix to Borgore's Flex, and his track Werewolf

Sexy Dubstep From Knife Party ft. Krewella

“We gon’ burn holes in the layers of our clothes, get me naked I am yours, for the taking ahh…”

This hot new track will sexually electrify any listener with Krewella’s naughty lyrics and Knife Party’s blood pumping backbeats. The Australian dubstep duo self-titled, Knife Party, created “Fire Hive,” but the song didn’t truly come to life until Krewella laid their sexy vocals all up on it. This track strictly embodies Krewella’s motto: “Making you wet... one song at a time.”

Zeds Dead Kills It With This Monster Track "Dear God 2.0"

This newly released track began as the brain child of Conor Oberst and M. Ward as released in their album, "Monsters of Folk". It was then adopted by the fathers of jazzy hip hop, The Roots, and rendered "Dear God 2.0". Finally, Zeds Dead took this song, stripped it of its hip hop anchors, and mixed it in to a haunting, spine-trembling, bass heavy dubstep track. Zeds Dead truly masters the blend between bone-chilling vocals and their signature bass-driven, nasty beats in this sick new track.
