"F.E.A.R." (Mr Rich & Billy Kenny Remix) - Ian Brown

UK producers Mr Rich & Billy Kenny add a pitch-black groove to Ian Brown's critically acclaimed 2001 single, "F.E.A.R." The remix bubbles over with pops in perfect unison to Brown's echoing spits, creating a moving House record that doesn't forgo psychedelia. Grab your download of the track below!

For each a road
For every man a religion
Find everybody and rule
For everything and rumble
Forget everything and remember
For everything a reason
Forgive everybody and remember

Electric Zoo Friday Preview: Cyril Hahn @ Sunday School Grove

Since the first Zoo in 2009, the north side of Randall's Island park has remained cordoned off into its own little section of heady underground audio paradise. But despite the welcomed expansion of the festival over subsequent years, the stage still holds onto its notoriety as one of the premiere East Coast venues for al fresco Tech and Deep House listening. Vancouver-based Cyril Hahn will be ushering in the fifth anniversary Grove celebrations early on Friday afternoon. The Swiss-born artist first found renown for his atmospheric House sound just over a year ago for his remixes of Destiny's Child and Mariah Carey, which netted support across the British airwaves with the help of everyone from Diplo to Annie Mac.

The prestige that followed after just three years within the realms of electronic served indispensable as a stepping stone towards a respected career as a fusion-centered solo producer, which came in the form of a recent record deal with PMR records (home to the Disclosure brothers) for this coming fall. As a DJ, Hahn's sound is equally synthesized, self-described as "a weird mix of different influences and phases in my life. The noise from my hardcore/punk phase when I was a teenager, the drones and excessive use of reverb from my post-rock/ambient phase and my more recent liking towards R&B."

Cyril's style shows an affinity for delicately binding stirringly deep R&B vocal lines and floating piano sections, a huge contrast to the darker Tech sound that will have the Grove fogged each night as dusk comes over the East River. If there's a crowd that's ready marinate in funky Electro pop and Deep House, it's the people of the Sunday School Grove. See you there early at 1:50 PM!

Tiësto Goes Deep Into The "After Hours" For Club Life 331

Last week Tiësto shook things up when he announced that he would be producing a Trance album if he took back the #1 DJ throne. This was followed by an announcement that he would be adding a weekly "Club Life After Hours" that would run Deep mixes from 5 AM Sundays to 5 AM Mondays. After an extended foray into Electro House he's ready to make Musical Freedom live up to its name - and in more ways than feeding into the trendy sounds (see: Trap Remix EP released last week). Musically, today's tracklist picks up a lot of tunes both popular and obscure with a constant grooving vibe that is perfect for the graveyard-shift broadcast. But at the same time a lot of the tracklisting is dated when compared to the up-to-the-minute weekly selection that radio shows these days are adhering to. It seems to me that Mr. Verwest is just adding another brand to his collection, and so far I'm digging it. Grab the download.

Free Download: Kaskade Live @ It's You It's Me Redux San Diego

Seeing Kaskade at the intimate Cielo club in the Meatpacking district was one of the most special nights I've spent out in the city. Waiting in the long line to get in we even saw Ryan with his posse entering the club through the same door, and by the time we got in he had just started. It seems that Kaskade had just announced this tour as soon as it ended, and you could tell the whole time that he was really enjoying himself. After all, he made it clear Redux was for him and for his longtime fans who can identify with the career trajectory he's taken since 2003. I wasn't expecting him to play much of anything from Fire & Ice or Strobelite Seduction but he surprised everyone with deep, sensual mixes of everything from "LLove" to "Eyes." The whole set was really remarkable and I'm glad he recorded half of his stop in San Diego which heard a similar tracklisting. Surely his next tour stop will land somewhere between the craziness of Freaks of Nature and the coziness of Redux...so I'm hoping for Roseland Ballroom.
