"Channel 42" - Deadmau5 & Wolfgang Gartner (Nom De Strip Remix)

Like many good tracks, this hard-hitter was recently premiered by Pete Tong on BBC Radio 1. Known for his work with the group Stupid Fresh, which he split with and formed this new solo-persona back in '09, Canadian Electro House extraordinaire Chris Elliott is at it again. Bringing heavy basslines and a unique thrill to his productions, the DJ/producer has worked on remix packages for the likes of industry legends MSTRKRFT, Fedde le Grand, and Chris Lake. His latest work is a hard hitting take on one of my favorite of Deadmau5 & Wolfgang Gartner's collaborations: "Channel 42." Upping the bass and the energy, Nom de Strip's latest slaps hard so check it out.

"The Veldt" - Deadmau5 (Kebu Analog Cover)

Kebu surprised me today with his absolutely brilliant cover of Deadmau5's most popular recent release. The cover was done completely by hand using only analog synths recorded onto tape. In the era of "Laptop DJs" it's easy to forget how hard raw "live" musical talent like this is to come by, especially something this cleanly produced. Without the aid of computers or MIDI inputs during the recording and mixing process, this is quite the impressive cover. The final recording was mastered using Izotope Ozone 5 on the computer, and the video shows "The Kebunator" during the whole recording process.

Track of the Day: "Trap For Me" - Kaskade & Deadmau5 (Van Toth Remix)

This song has given me the chills from the very moment I heard it. Ryan & Joel's original is a classic anthem of Electronic Dance Music, the core of our movement and the pinnacle of everything it can musically be. I'm not much for cheap Trap remixes, but this one sure does the trick. Van Toth has a clean way of working with Kaskade's trademark silky-smooth lyrics and wrapping driving snare around the already encapsulating sound. This one hits the heart just as hard as your booty, and by the end you'll have a whole new appreciation for the developing genre that is Trap music.

Deadmau5 To Perform Both Weekends at Ultra Music Festival 2013

Recently engaged Joel Zimmerman will be performing at both weekends of the 15th annual Ultra Music Festival in Miami! After being noticeably absent from last year's lineup, the Mau5 will be back this year for all the East Coast revelers to bask in his crossover-style. This is hugely exciting for me, it's been far too long since I saw Deadmau5 play at any show, much less a massive festival event! Let's hope he brings the cube.

"Arcadia" (Original Mix) - Deadmau5

Joel's sound is constantly evolving, and after hearing this latest tune I'm sure that he's well beyond his Electro-glitch days. "Arcadia" is a slow, ambient track that brings back memories of Random Album Title, yet still has a sound all of its own. Slow and graceful, the track is hardly your everyday EDM track, but more of a relaxing, slowly drifting original take on Progressive Trance. Deadmau5 impressed with his latest album release, but this minimal arrangement strays pretty far from anything he's put out in recent memory. What's in store for us next?
