Track of the Day: "Sacramentum" (Andrew Rayel Aether Mix)

Whether you want to admit it or not, the EDM community is experiencing an existential crisis. As electronic music has become more and more popular in the US, there has been a noticeable lack of desire for innovation among many producers. Luckily, we have people like Andrew Rayel to fight against the tides. I can't think of an adjective that properly describes just how groundbreaking his work has been since the fall, with his "Aether" and "Stadium" mixes in particular pushing the boundaries of epic Trance farther than ever before.

His latest Aether Mix with the Russian Bobina is an altar of sound illuminated by piano and drum breakdowns, a beautiful voice sample, chord progressions galore, and his patented synth layering that brings it all together into a remarkable Trance ballad. Tracks like this are what give me hope that electronic music will weather this storm and emerge stronger than ever before. Grab your copy today from Armada!

Track of the Day: "Bang!" - Alex M.O.R.P.H. & Jerome Isma-Ae

Whatever kind of music you're into, build ups are essential to any song. Alex M.O.R.P.H & Jerome Isma-Ae have mastered the art of an escalating sound and keep you at a whole new level in their latest release for Armada. I'm usually a dubstep fan but the Tech tempo in this track fed my thirst for groove and kept me on my feet for the entire duration. "Bang!" is one of those songs that you'll hear vibrating through the subwoofers after already being out all night and just slip into at 3 AM. As Armada and its artists keeps expanding beyond their trademark vocal Trance & Progressive sounds there's a lot of new grooves to be discovered, and this one will land you straight in the jungle. Unleash the beat!

Track of the Day: "Ciao" (Original Mix) - Audien

"Wayfarer" was my go-to track since its hot release last year and Nath Rathbun, otherwise known as has managed to pick up the pace and craft a new frontrunner to my weekend playlists. Audien has recently released his new single, "Ciao," which is an intricate melding of club adrenaline and stop-and-stare mind melting pulses of high octane fuel, and the latest testament to Trice Recordings' determination to bring out the groovier side of Armada! Stream the full, extended original mix below and be sure to grab a copy. Editor's Note: I remember hearing this tune on repeat back in February. My roommate was actually supposed to be singing on the track, but I'm glad he kept the mix dubbed out, although the "ciao" whisper she had going at the break would've been a nice addition.

"Mescaline" (Original Mix) - Angry Man

Armada has been branching out recently establishing a wealth of smaller sub-labels that cater to a particular sound within the reaches of Trance & Progressive. One of the most promising is the Oakenfold-inspired Perfecto Fluoro, which calls upon his '96 Goa Trance inspired album of the same name. As far as secretive goes, there's hardly a producer that's more incognito than Perfecto's own Angry Man. The track is as hallucinogenic as the title would describe, a full on psychedelic, aerodynamic journey that's not about to go away after you take your hit. Grab the full remix package today!

"Hollywood" (Original Mix) - Luke Bond

It's a once in a blue moon opportunity that we get a glimpse into this side of Bond's sound, but he's resurrecting it in a huge way in 2013. The producer usually sticks to his Progressive, but when he dips his feet in the other side amazing things can happen. We first saw this a few years back with his release of "Atlantis," followed by "Amaze," which left a mark in the world of Trance forever. His latest for Armada Music "Hollywood" has a wonderful Trance synth arrangement and buildup which is complimented by a fire bassline that has your attention rolling with the song as it goes along. Like the hills of LA this one is a bright melody with a lot of passion ingrained in it, great for a drive in the sunshine. Bond. Luke Bond.
