EDM New Years Eve 2012: The Definitive East Coast List

This year I am so done with over-hyped house parties with a tapped out keg, drunk biddies hanging around the bathroom, and sweaty basement dancefloors that play the likes of Pitbull and Ke$ha. Nope, this New Year's Eve is so stacked with killer raves and EDM events, I'd literally be crazy not to go to one. The only dilemma: which to choose?? Get ready to ring in 2013 with good vibes, confetti, and of course a fuckton of dancing. You're welcome in advance! Free Download: "Beefin'" - CTLGD (Trilluminati Trap Remix)

Just a week after Thanksgiving it’s never too late to be thankful, especially for the internet’s ability to expose anyone with talent to anyone surfing the web. On this fine Trap Thursday, I was lucky enough to come across the Soundcloud page of CTLGD. Real name Christian Mochizuki, this young fresh talent from Hawaii really caught my attention with his Trilluminati remix of the signature Steve Aoki and Afrojack collab "No Beef." Making great use of the original vocals we all know and love as well as the EFFEDUPCAMEL sample, this one leads to pure trap filth after the drop. Follow the link to CTLGD’s Facebook for the free download along with a few others and definitely watch for more from this dude in the near future.

Afrojack, Erick Morillo Added to Help Heal NYC Lineup

Today is a great day for EDM, today we prove that we can actively make a difference in the world! Fresh off his benefit show in Atlantic City along with An21 and DJ Bambi (where they raised over 75k for hurricane relief), Dutch House superstar Afrojack will be headlining Pacha tomorrow night along with an all-star linup! And best of all, all proceeds will be going to benefit victims of Hurricane Sandy. Union, NJ native and Pacha co-owner Erick Morillo has also been added to the lineup, stating that he "jumped at the chance to get involved in such a good cause, and would like to thank the international dance community for coming together to help get our area back on their feet." Anyone interested in joining the volunteer effort should submit their details to volunteer@pachanyc.com.

Track of the Day: "Can't Stop Me Now" - Afrojack (Kryder & Staar Remix)

Afrojack’s hit single with Shermanology "Can’t Stop Me Now" gets the fish & chips treatment, as British talents Kryder and Tom Staar showcase their official 2 day old remix that has already crept into the top 25 of the Beatport Progressive House chart. The edgy collaboration implements finely crafted big-room basslines that underlie harmonies consisting of quirky tribal percussion and trance-infused leads, narrating the story of a mystical journey taken to a destination that resides deep within the vast, unknown realms of outer space. Kryder and Staar are the masters of their own universes, both having quickly attained widespread industry recognition for their musical skills that were put to the test in the grungy basement parties in the UK. There's more in store for the duo, as they will soon be releasing an official remix to Swedish House Mafia's latest chart-topper, “Don’t You Worry Child." The potential individual and paired successes of these two is endless, as they continue to reign over their fellow English producers with a cosmic hand.
