Track of the Day: "Clobber" (Original Mix) - Dannic

Hailing from Breda where superstar DJs account for a huge chunk of the town's bread and butter, young Dutch virtuoso Dannic is back at it again with a true dance tune titled "Clobber." Despite his constant cranking out of tracks that adhere to the tribal Holland sound, Dannic demonstrates his versatility by keeping "Clobber" cool, dirty and driving. With a rolling heavy groove that not only straddles a big room sound, but also keeps the vibes on a tech tip, this one is perfect for Mark Knight’s Toolroom Records label. The recent production of many records akin to this one hints to the looming rebirth of the traditional house/tech house/techno genres, a trend that could realistically lead to a maturing of the present day EDM listenership. The vast majority of today’s elite Progressive House artists made their way into the industry with those traditional tracks and going back to their roots with these fusion-type songs would help to combat a future in which the genre lacks diversity, only comprised of a generic dance sound.
