"Enjoy the Silence" - Depeche Mode (Tom Staar & Kryder Remix)

After ending 2012 with tasked remixes for the likes of Afrojack ("Can't Stop Me Now"and Swedish House Mafia ("Don't You Worry Child"), dynamic duo Tom Staar & Kryder take it back to 1990 with their rendition of Depeche Mode's hit classic "Enjoy the Silence." The edgy collaboration implements finely crafted big-room basslines that underlie harmonies consisting of quirky percussion and Progressive leads. Remixes like this one and Kryder’s individual take on The Police’s "Message In a Bottle" (Sending Out An S.O.S.) demonstrates the idea that even though technological progression may have changed the nature of music production, our greatest hits will always have influence in a constantly fluid music culture. It’s great to also see the two on their way to branding their own unique sound, as each successive track enables them to separate themselves from what Fatboy Slim calls "that generic EDM sound."
