Preview: Soundwave Music Festival AZ

This Saturday Tempe, Arizona's annual Soundwave Music Festival will be taking over the Valley of the Sun at Big Surf Waterpark. This event has been known for housing big names such as Kaskade, Diplo, and Boys Noize so we at EDM Lounge are excited to check it out once more this year. With the addition of the Redbull Thre3style Massive stage on top of the wave pool stage, Soundwave has gotten twice the amount of talent it had last year - if you're in the area you will not want to miss this. Watch out for our team there spreading the love (yes some of us are flying all the way from NYC for this!), and if you see us please be sure to SAY CHEESE!

Calvin Harris (Waikiki Beach Stage, 10:30 PM - 12:00 AM)

Calvin Harris is among the biggest names in EDM right now. After collaborating with artists like Rihanna and deadmau5, this young 28 year old producer still has a massive career ahead of him. A headliner at this year's EDC New York and Vegas, this mainstage act will sure to make waves, even if it is the desert.

FIGURE (Redbull Thre3style Massive Stage, 11:00 PM - 12:00 AM)

FIGURE has one of the wildest sounds coming out of bass music today. With a background in Electro House, Josh Gard brings to the table a truly unique, and loud Dubstep sound. With a strong and loyal fanbase fueled by his dedication to his listeners and free downloads, FIGURE has gone off the charts this year, and we can't wait to watch him close out the Surf festival at the Redbull stage Saturday night!

R3hab (Waikiki Beach Stage, 9:30 - 10:30 PM)

After dominating in the Dutch dance scene, R3hab has made a name for himself in Electronic Dance Music scene. From collaborating with the likes of Chuckie and Laidback Luke, to tearing up the stages at music festivals around the world, after this hour and a half of this you'll be screaming "I need R3hab!".

Adventure Club (Waikiki Beach Stage, 8:30 - 9:30 PM)

Adventure Club is an interesting producing duo that take the most unique and different tracks and remix them. From remixing Flight Facilities, to the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and even Alexisonfire, AC have definitely mastered the art of making a song into a beautiful dub step tune. After a firey touring year for the two, from EDC Vegas to Electric Zoo, you can't miss this one.

Seven Lions (Waikiki Beach Stage, 6:30 - 7:30 PM)

Producer Jeff Montalvo has been making a lot of noise in not just the Dubstep charts, but the Trance charts too recently. His signature trancestep has become increasingly more and more popular with the overwhelming support of both of the genre's fan bases. Each track of his is different, and it should be a real treat to see it in action, live.

Z-trip (Redbull Thre3Style Massive Stage, 9:40 - 11:00 PM)

Arizona local, and 2009 America's Best DJ, Z-trip is definitely a performance you will not want to mix. After tearing up the stage last year at Soundwave, dropping music from the Gorillaz to Pretty Lights, this DJ definitely knows his style and sound and it shows. It will certainly be a performance you won't want to miss.

Felix Cartal (Redbull Thre3style Massive Stage, 7:55 - 8:45 PM)

Canadian Electro DJ Felix Cartal's productions are hard hitting and will be sure to bring some energy to your day. With sounds similar to that of Boys Noize and The Bloody Beetroots, this Electro DJ will be sure to have something funky and fresh up his sleeve.

Dub Fx feat. Flower Fairy (Redbull Thre3style Massive Stage, 6:30 - 7:10 PM)

After just coming back from tearing up the stage at Insomniac's Nocturnal Wonderland, this street performing, beatboxing duo are one their way to the Valley to make some serious noise. With their unique live producing style through beatboxing, this performance will definitely differ from all the rest and sit with you in a good way. The chemistry that this couple brings to the stage is overwhelming, and soon you will find yourself tangled in their Hip Hop, Dub, Reggae feel.
