Track of the Day: "Years" - Alesso ft. Matthew Koma

Alesso’s mastery of Progressive House and his massive festival sets are quickly lifting him to the top of the EDM World.  The Swedish producer who tore up Governors Island for his 21st birthday last month, has finally released his hit anthem "Years" today on Refune Records. Building on the success of "Calling (Lose My Mind)," Alesso's new release features mellow vocals, this time coming from the talented Matthew Koma of Zedd's "Spectrum", followed by that energetic, trademark Alesso drop.  The bass and synths are built around a piano, which stands on its own at points in the track.  The way Alesso accompanies the piano melody with Koma’s vocals to add anticipation to the build up is absolutely sick. The drop speaks for itself.  Listen a few times through and you'll notice a different intricacy in the track each time. With the SHM era coming to a close, I’m hoping to see Alesso team up with big brother Sebastian Ingrosso on many future projects (or maybe that's just my fantasy after seeing them play b2b at EDC NY)

Out today on Beatport!

Sidenote: Alesso's EDC NY set (which features "Years") is one of the best I’ve heard. The entire set was absolute fire, so press play and enjoy!
